About Canada-Bangladesh & Chamber of Commerce

Founded in April 1998 by a group of business professionals in Toronto, the Canada-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CBCC) was established to strengthen economic ties and foster trade between Canada and Bangladesh. Mr. Rezaur Rahman served as the founding president of the organization, which began with a dedicated board of 21 members. Since its inception, CBCC has actively organized business seminars, trade fairs, and economic programs aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs and fostering bilateral trade. One of its notable achievements was advocating for tax-free imports of goods from Bangladesh, a milestone in promoting trade between the two nations. CBCC also collaborates with leading organizations such as the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and has co-hosted several impactful seminars to support business growth. CBCC operates as a dynamic business network, connecting businesses, government agencies, and other organizations to promote the interests of the business community. By uniting local entrepreneurs and advocating for their needs, the Chamber works to enhance the economic, civic, and cultural well-being of the regions it serves.

With extensive experience across various industries, he is dedicated to strengthening economic ties between Canada and Bangladesh. Through his leadership at CBCC, he actively promotes trade, investment, and business collaboration, supporting entrepreneurs and fostering growth in both nations. In addition to his role at CBCC, he serves as the Director of Markington FamilyCare & Walk-In Clinic in Scarborough, ON. His commitment to economic development continues to drive impactful international business relations.

    Anwar Azad
    Senior Vice president

  • Anwar Azad has been in Canada for the last 35 Years and is actively involved in the Media Business in Canada and Bangladesh for more than a decade and owns a company named“ Canadian Media Entertainment Inc.” and its registered subsidiary named as “Anwar Azad Films” in Bangladesh. Studied at Dhaka University, Bangladesh and York University, Canada.He comes up with a Strong leadership, excellent communication and management and inter personal skills. He is a Director for the last 12 years of International Film festival of South Asia, Toronto [IFFSA] a largest South Asian Film festival in North America. Was Director for 2consecutive terms of Peel Multicultural Council, a NGO that works on Immigrant needs in the Region of Peel. He is a Film Producer and active registered member of Bangladesh Film Producers and Distributors Association, Bangladesh. Also Film Distributor of International Filmsin Canada. He is working toward Bilateral Business Development in Canada-Bangladesh. He has been involved with various organizations over the Years and supports Cultural Diversity.

  • Dr. ASM Noorullah Tarun, MD, CCFP, is a highly respected family physician in Toronto, Canada, recognized for his dedication to patient care, leadership, and mentorship. He is the CEO and Physician Lead of Comprehensive Healthcare Network (CHN), a network of eight primary care clinics and a specialized center providing high-quality healthcare across the Greater Toronto Area. Recently, he established Myocardia Diagnostic Centre to expand cardiac diagnostic services in Toronto.

    Beyond healthcare, Dr. Tarun's passion for community service led him to create Lobongo Fine Dining, the largest authentic Bangladeshi fine dining restaurant in Canada. He actively mentors internationally trained Bangladeshi physicians (IMGs) to help them integrate into the Canadian healthcare system.

    In addition to his role at CBCC, he serves as the President of the Bangladeshi Canadian Physician Association and practices as a Family Physician at Markington FamilyCare & Walk-In Clinic in Scarborough, ON.
